Asking questions twice
This discussion is connected to the gimp-user-list.gnome.org mailing list which is provided by the GIMP developers and not related to gimpusers.com.
This is a read-only list on gimpusers.com so this discussion thread is read-only, too.

Gimp-user Digest, Vol 70, Issue 17
Hello
I'm running the new Gimp package on OS 10.5.4. Thanks to all who are
involved in its development.
As a mosaic artist and not a programmer, I am keen to know if there's
a way to revive the "conical
anamorphose" filter that I understand was part of earlier versions. I
would like to make a 3-d rendering of an image and then apply glass
and stone to it.
Could anyone explain to a lay person how this filter could be added to the program -- if it can?
Thanks so much, George

My workflow is: Pentax raw (.pef) > rawstudio > gimp > save as tif > add
iptc data with exiftool. If I then open the tif again in gimp I get the
following message:wrong data type 7 for "XMLPacket"; tag ignored
and on saving again all the iptc data has gone.
Is there a solution to this?
TIA,
Andrew

I'm currently not able to open psd files with Gimp. (SVN build under Ubuntu). During the process to opening the file the progress bar stops by ca 75%. With Gimp 2.4.5 the same. I can load all the those psd files
under Windows with Gimp 2.4.6.Here is a stack trace. Maybe someone can help. Would be appreciated.

Is it considered proper to ask a question again if I've rec'd no response after a week or so?
Thanks,

Content-Type: text/plain; charset="utf-8"David, I just realised that I accidently sent my last reply to you personally. I'm sorry for that. I am used to the OpenOffice.org mailing
lists, with which I can just click Reply to reply to the list automatically.
It seems like I can never get used to having to enter the address of the
list manually or click Reply to all and then remove all addresses except the
list's address.2008/7/29 David Gowers

Okay, replied:

should be replaced with "preferences", I have the Swedish version, so I am
not really sure).However, David replied:
Folders -> Brushes
So here's my new reply:
If you mean File ? Settings ? Folders ? Brushes, I can't really see any
possibilities to set anything to writeable or even setting anything at all
to what ever, except that I can add and delete search patchs for the brushes. There are a few buttons, but they are all deactivated. The buttons
seems to be New, Up, Down, Delete and a green ?. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...

If no one responds, it's possible that no one has an answer. However, perhaps you would get a better response if you trimmed your reply ...
