I have Windows10, just updated to the new version of GIMP, and don't have a desktop icon, either. I miss it.

For a desktop icon use the customise option with the Gimp installer. Normally un-ticked. see screenshot 1

If it is installing over an older version and it keeps existing setup. Make your own, various ways in Windows. Right click on a menu item.

Use Windows Explorer, find the Gimp executable, right click, make a shortcut see: screenshot 2

but no desktop ICON. HELP Please..

Hi Guy's

Problem solved. I clicked on the Windows Start Icon, Scroll through all the Apps and found the Gimp 2.10 icon. I right clicked on the icon and selected 'Open file location' from the drop down menu from there I was able to create a shortcut and added it to my desktop.
