How to switch off anti-aliasing in Rectangular Selection Tool?

Hello,

Is it possible to switch off an anti-aliasing option in Rectangular Selection Tool? There is a check box , but it's always disabled.

(I'm using GIMP 2.0.5, W2K)

Thanks in advance,

Tim.

No it is not. I suggest you make your selection, and them run "selection->sharpen" instead.

Thanks in advance,

Tim.

How to switch off anti-aliasing in Rectangular Selection Tool?

Hi,

The rectangle select tool never does antialiasing. What would you want to turn off here? It's off already.

Moin...last time I looked at it, it was gimp 2.0. yet, and it showed up disabled, but selected. I thought it took fractions of rows and cols into account.

Would not it be reasonable that it doesn't get displayed instead of appearing disabled ?

It is shown insensitive and off.

No, since that would mean that tool options jump around when switching between selection tools.

You are right. This is a silly bug in GIMP and it is recreated by checking "rounded corners" and then checking "antialiasing" and then unchecking rounded corners. "Antialiasing" becomes disabled - goodness knows why. This stays even if you restart GIMP! Arrgh!
You undo this by checking rounded corners again so antialiasing becomes enabled again, then unchecking "antialiasing" and then again unchecking "rounded corners".
Have a nice decade!

Maybe it's like this because anti-aliasing only applies to rounded corners? I have a hard time figuring out how it would be involved in a completely rectangular object with sides parallel to the image ones.
