wacom intuos tablet on gimp

Hi, I'm new to Gimp, and so currently I have the latest 2.8.10 version. I have a Intuos tablet (not the Intuos Pro), and I can't seem to get Gimp to recognize it.

I checked out other threads& forums, but I either don't understand it or it doesn't help.

My tablet is connected before I start Gimp, and I use the pen to start Gimp. When I go to Edit> Preferences> Input Devices> Configure Extended Input Devices, I only see Core Pointer available.

Thanks

Michael Schumacher

Tablet support is platform-dependent - what operating system do you use?

Oh, I meant to mention it, but forgot. I have a Windows 7 64bit
