I downloaded Gimp to my Macbook Pro. I have Mac OS X version 10.6.8. When I tried to install it, a message came up asking me to install XQuartz. I did this and was then able to install Gimp. However, when I tried to open Gimp, it does not open. Any thoughts?

Hi,

seems you're running GIMPs X11 version from gimp.lisanet.de. I had the same problems with this build.
This build is not supported by the GIMP developers. You might find help at http://sourceforge.net/projects/gimponosx/forums.
