scale problem while printing

hi all

im using GIMP 2.6.7 on Xubuntu 9.10.

im trying to print a graphic designed at 300 dpi on an A4 sheet. but on printing the dpi is increasing 332 dpi and reducing the size of the artwork, with unnecessary margins. even increasing the scale option in the print windo is not effecting the print size.

any clues how to resolve this?

Nobody is really paid for this...

I don't print directly from Gimp, but

1) did you check the "ignore page margins" in the print/image settings dialog tab?
2) the margins could be mandated by your printer (or its driver) , can you print wider stuff on it when not using Gimp?
