how to select within a selection

Can someone tell me how to make a fuzzy selection within a rectangular selection?

I want to bucket-fill the green areas only in the top left. So I rectangular-select the
top left, and use the fuzzy-select tool, but the fuzzy tool continues to selection in
the entire image.

Thanks much, Helen Etters

Hold down CTRL+SHIFT while making your fuzzy select.
