Tablet Problems

I use my tablet only on a portion of the screen. This would be fine with GIMP as I center the editable image in the area my tablet can use. BUT whenever I change tools and tool options with my mouse, (which can reach outside of the center area and edit various options,) I find that using the tablet again reverts to whatever the options were before I changed them. Is there anyway to prevent this or am I done with GIMP?

For each input device (mouse, pen, eraser), GIMP assigns tools separately. So I suggest you:

a) come up with a bunch of shortcuts for your tools b) position the toolbox right over the are you use with your tablet, and press to hide the toolbox

Oh, well. Thanks for the advice. I'll try it before giving up and moving on to something else :)
