How do I get rid of the toolbox menu without closing gimp? I run a windows xp sp3, gimp 2.6.8 with lots of add-ons

Thanks, Mike

As far as I know there is no way to do what you ask. You can resize the toolbox to make it smaller, move something else on top of it or move the toolbox to the edge of the screen, but I do not think there is anyway to get rid of it.

Tab key toggles sub-windows (toolbox, layers, etc) on and off when cursor is in an active GIMP window. This is quick and quite convenient, especially when the image window is maximized.
