How to protect layer against modification?

Is there possibility to protect layer against any kind of modification? No move, no paint, no change of anything.

I sometime put pixels in wrong place :( or move not that layer i wanted...

I know about ctrl+z but sometime i notify mistake after much other changes...

life... but can gimp help me with that?

How to protect layer against modification?

Is there possibility to protect layer against any kind of modification? No move, no paint, no change of anything.

I think there will be something like this in the next version of GIMP (2.8). The feature is called "lock pixels" and is accessed in the layers dialog next to the "lock transparency"-option. Right now (gimp 2.6) there is nothing as you need it.
