Not everyone is a member of facebook. Could you summarize the problem the person is having with the dark padding?

I'm guessing that "dark padding" refers to the dark theme. There is also a middle gray and a light theme, in addition to the dark theme.

When the themes were being developed, there was input from various people with various issues with themes that were "too bright" and also with themes that were "too dark", hence the three choices.
