UPDATING VERSIONS

I am currently uses GIMP 2.4.7, and I see that the current version is 2.6.11.

How do I go about my version of GIMP? Should I UNINSTALL the previous version first and then install the newer version, or will installing the newer version simply overwrite the previous version if I don't uninstall it first?

It's usually best to uninstall previous version first. All the add-ons you installed yourself should be automatically picked by a new one.

P.S. Please use gimp-user@ mailing list for such questions in the future.

Not on Windows - just install over the old one.
