Q: cygwin GIMP build problems: missing execinfo.h

Greetings,

Can anyone tell me the trick to building GIMP under cygwin (on Windows XP 64-bit).

My immediate problem is that the GEGL make fails because execinfo.h is not found.

The doc page at http://www.gnu.org/software/gnulib/manual/html_node/execinfo_002eh.html says "This header file is missing on all non-glibc platforms: ... Cygwin, mingw".

The description of bug 613537 (https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=613537) suggests that the build should not be including this file on windows platforms.

Possibly the GEGL autoconf script is confused by 64-bit Windows?

You really mean you are building for Cygwin, not Windows?

Well, most likely nobody has attempted to build GEGL for Cygwin before.

the build should not be including this file on windows platforms.

Well, Cygwin is a Unix platform. It should not be treated as Windows. It's just a coincidence that Cygwin runs on top of Windows.
