how to create a project in my VC++ express with GIMP

This discussion is connected to the gimp-developer-list.gnome.org mailing list which is provided by the GIMP developers and not related to gimpusers.com.

This is a read-only list on gimpusers.com so this discussion thread is read-only, too.

how to create a project in my VC++ express with GIMP

hi, guys.
this is my first time to use gimp,
i fount when i opened gimp for the psd files(used as PhotoShop) and save as WITHOUT any edit,
the file size is bigger than the original file. the original psd file is 1.3M,the new one is 1.44M.
so,i want to read the source code about the psd save model. i fount gimpvs project, but i did not find a way to create a Project in my VC++ Express.
i download the gimpvs project in the svn. there isn't any info about that. Is there any one to compile Gimp with Visual Studio?

GimpVS is not associated with the main Gimp project, and it looks like development on it came to a stop in March 2008, so you will probably have to do a lot of work to make this happen. Regarding the original problem, PhotoShop PSD files are designed to support PhotoShop's internal file format, which is different from Gimp's, so it is nearly impossible to open a PSD in Gimp and then re-save it and have it come back identical. It makes sense to try to improve PSD support in Gimp, but it doesn't make sense to aim for identical files.
