About GSOC 2009

Hello everyone,
I want take part in gimp gsoc 2009, and I am interesting in the idea of "OpenGL GPU resampling in GEGL". But I don't know the exact steps for applying this project. Could anyone tell me?

In summary:

Unless I find a mentor (I'm looking) who is ready to guide you through the GEGL back end design and programming, a non-trivial software engineering task, or you yourself have the competence to do it on your own, you probably should find another project to apply to.
