Doc update for 2.4

Hello!

I'd like to help a bit with the documentation, esp. in those parts where it changed from 2.2 to 2.4. How can I submit updates? The behaviour descirbed in gimp-using-selections.html for example seems to be out of date by now. Should I simply follow the patch instructions in the gimp-help-2 README file?

Thank you, Daniel

Wow - that is nice! Welcome oboard!

Actually yes. We found out, that a lot of people may have trouble starting to hack on the DocBook/XML sources. Let us know if you need any further information :)

Ok, here's my first patch :-) I'd appreciate a quick glance over the English parts by a native speaker and I hope the new image (using/select-move.png) is OK. I think that a circular selection emphasizes the floating layer more, and a new screenshot was necessary anyway because of the new pointer images. With the advent of new selection tools the list in the first paragraph of "Moving a Selection" becomes more and more incomplete. Should all possible tools be listed there?

Well, here's the patch, the new image proposal may be found at http://pendelchaos.homelinux.net/gimp/select-move.png (Up really most of the time, but slow upspead, please be patient...) -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... Name: gimp-help-2.patch

Hi Daniel,

Thanks for your patch. Send your patch next time either to me, or if someone of the authors already responded, only to one of them. Sending a patch to the mailing list could make the checkin of your patch confusing ...

So - if nobody replied to Daniel, I take care of the patch.

Actually yes. I think this section has to be adapted to the new selection tools anyway.
