Graphic Text Art Shapes
I am trying to create something that looks like the attached picture. I've read that GIMP can't really fill a shape with text and that Inkscape might be a better option for that, but I was curious about this specific desgin. It isn't really just filling a shape.
Does anyone know of any tutorials that might help me? Any suggestions aside from creating a whole lot of paths? If many paths is my only optoion, I'll just have to work with it I guess.

nice illustration! however I think there is no other way - also even when you work with paths you're very limited in GIMP since you cannot define the baseline where the curved text should be aligned. It's a very basic feature in GIMP. so the task would be pretty time intense.
