I haven't used gimp yet on my new machine, but if I recall correctly, you cannot modify one letter in a string like in PS.

You may however be able to make it Camel Cased...

Hi...
Gimp can't do this. Not working with text. One way to go there is to create a second text layer, in the font and size you want the first letters to be, and replace then witth select + drag & drop on the smaller version.
