GIMP integration in Mac OS X

Hi! I just saw an interesting thing in Graphics Planet:

It seems that a better integration between GIMP and Mac OS X is on the way! Does anyone have an idea about when that shoud be released? Os which version is planned to get the menu bar integration in OS X? Will it be available as a regular app file?

Damn, this is great! I like the GIMP more and more each day.
