Another problem istalling gimp-2.3.19

Under suse-10.2, I have gtk+-2.10.6. I downloaded gtk+-2.10.13, necessary for gimp-2.3.19. md5sum is right. glib-2.12.4, pango-1.14.5, atk-1.12.3, cairo-1.2.4 are installed.

./configure is OK. make gives this error : (only a part in this screenshot)

Hi Julien,

Package cups-devel is missing.
Try these commands when you are looking for (missing) files or packages (this is my SuSE 9.3 output):

$ locate cups/cups.h # searching files on harddisk /usr/include/cups/cups.h
$
$ ls /usr/include/cups/
cups.h http.h image.h ipp.h language.h md5.h ppd.h raster.h $
$ rpm -qf /usr/include/cups/
cups-devel-1.1.23-7.6
$
$ pin cups.h # searching files on CD/DVD ... (output of "zgrep cups.h /var/lib/pin/ARCHIVES.gz")

(Package "findutils" should be installed for using "locate", package "pin" for using "pin".)

Yes, looks a lot like it. The GTK+ configure script should however have detected this. So it would be a good idea to investigate if this should be reported as a bug against GTK+.

I believe that libssl is provided by compat-openssl097g-32bit-0.9.7g-13.5 on openSUSE

You will have to look at the package to see if it contains your needs as I am still w/10.1 :^)

With

The corresponding devel package is openssl-devel.

BTW, for SuSE-9.3 there is a YaST option "install corresponding devel packages" (top menubar -> Extras).

hi I noticed ur e-mail & that You are having a problem installing GIMP.

Julian had problems installing gimp-2.3.19, but after installing the missing devel packages everything seemes to work fine.

so am I. my computer says its installed but once i make a document & i try saving it i says i cant because the program is not completly installed.

Sorry, but I don't understand your problem. You are trying to install gimp-2.3.19 using Linux, right? What is installed according to your computer? What kind of document are you trying to save, an image? What is the exact error message when you are trying to save the image?

Are You having the same problem?

No. ;-)

Ulf
