Warp Transform Fails

Warp Transform Fails
I am following this tutorial about the Warp Transform tool: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VoUKrXCnZ9U in GIMP 2.10.20 running in Ubuntu 18.04. The Warp Transform tool is not modifying my single layer image. The image is not warped when I drag the cursor in the image. What could prevent it from doing so?

Thank you for your reply. After seeing your video I realized the Warp did not appear to work because its area setting was too small. Increasing the to 100 pixels, and more, made it do sufficient warping effects.
Now I have another problem for which I have started this thread: https://www.gimpusers.com/forums/gimp-user/21889-making-a-wood-texture
