How to make a 7.5 cm x 2.5 cm image with 1 million spots at 600 dpi

Hello,
I want to make an image with a regular array of 1 million spots that when printed at 600 dpi measures 7.5 cm by 2.5 cm. The distance between spots should be the same and spots should be aligned in a square pattern versus offset in a diamond pattern. Does someone know how to do this with GIMP? Thanks in advance,
Adrian

Your image will only have about 1 million pixels, so that might be a bit hard to achieve.
