run native in Mac OS, or run in Linux using VirtualBox

It seems that gimp is maintianed more for Linux than Mac OS. Is that right? If so, would it be better to run native in Mac OS, or run in Linux using VirtualBox?

Probably this depends on how happy you are running Linux programs on a Mac. Even better might be for you to volunteer to help make GIMP better on the Mac :)
