THis depends on what you’re trying to do.

G'MIC and Resynthesizer are two that are especially useful.

The GIMP team is working on a new repository for plugins but it's not yet available unfortunately, so you may end up using archive.org and rebuilding resynthesizer (depending on which Linux distribution you use, it might also be packaged for you).

G'MIC is at gmic.eu

If you are a photographer, darktable and the darktable gimp plugin that comes with it is awesome.

If you scan images on Linux, xsane has a GIMP plugin, although i'm not sure it works with GIMP 2.10; i tend to save the files to disk anyway.

Since you come from PS have to assume you are using Windows.

Gmic is at www.gmic.eu contains 500+ filters of all sorts and the Windows version has an easy to use installer.

Resynthesizer + associated scripts you can get here: https://www.gimp-forum.net/Thread-Resynthisizer-Heal-Selection-Runtime-Error?pid=12687#pid12687

What does it do? see: https://patdavid.net/2012/08/getting-around-in-gimp-heal-selection.html

Otherwise it depends on interests. The other Gimp forums are the place to ask. Try gimpchat.com Many plugins posted there in the first place.

If photography is your subject then ask on https://discuss.pixls.us/ which as well as Gimp deals with Darktable / Rawtherapee applications. (import RAW into Gimp)
