Please help me!   I accidently Xclosed the toolbox on the right that had layering info...  How do I get it back?  I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling gimp program and the toolbox is still gone.

press the tab key if all the docks aregone;

or use the windows menu to get just the toolbox back (Windows-

Toolbox)

or press control b.

You might also try windows->single window mode.

Complete closed toolboxes usually appear in the "Windows -> Recently Close Docks" menu. Clicking an entry there restores a closed window.

I'm not sure if that works for you if you re-installed GIMP after closing the window.

If it's not there, you can show the various components that make up the original "Layers" toolbox by clicking "Windows -> Dockable dialogs -> Layers", "Channels", etc. However you have to drag them all back together into tabs yourself.

Best regards Tomaž
