Layer masks and alpha channels
Hello
I'm working my way through the free online gimp text called "Grokking the gimp". However, it seems to be a bit out dated.
One difference I noticed is that you don't have to create an alpha channel before creating a layer mask.
However, i was surprised to find that even after adding a layer mask, the image didn't have an alpha channel in the channels dialog. Why is this?
