The new GIMP 2.8.14: Yosemite

[PC MAC OS X Yosemite]

Re: GIMP 2.8.14: Yosemite

I downloaded this 2 days ago and it is corrupt:

Problems

1. Preference tab

A) Problem "Preference" dropdown access under GIMP tab disappears after a few image editing/processing has been in progress... in-between saving into xcf and resumption for further editing.

B) In the Gimp version immediate before this current 2.8.14 Yosemite installed... I read via google about a comment: " Click Preference tab and choose and click "disable all keyboard shortcuts" and click "OK" if any of the editing features appears to be dysfunctional. Sure enough what ever I do that becomes a stumbling block the above surely solved it. But now with 2.8.14 if the Preference disappears... then I have to quit and start all over again. It is a damn-if -I-do-or-don't gamble.... if I get lucky.

2. "Undo" under "edit" tab disappears and I cannot undo my testing/experiment process to see what works to proceed further.

3. "None" under "select" tab disappears... so I cannot unselect/undo "alpha to selection" feature to proceed to the next desired editing step. This goes for other editing functions that requires undoing/unselecting step to proceed further with the project.

Please note... when activating/opening GIMP to start work... the above mentioned features are there. It is when several editing steps have been performed when they become inaccessible/in-operable or has disappeared.

I would like to re-download the latest version of GIMP immediately prior to the Yosemite version that works. If I remember correctly it was also Gimp 2.8.14 or 2.8.12. Please advise.

I have a lot of projects related to birthdays... Thanksgiving which is just a few days from now.... and I hope this problem does not drag all the way to Christmas holiday and would like to re-download 2.8.14 when flaws/glitches have been corrected.

Thank you very much for your help!
