Can't enter text

Can't enter text

Hi there,

This probably has to do with a setting i've changed somehow, but I just can't figure this out...

When I use the text tool, and click onto a layer to add text, I start typing, and no text is entered, the program just flips me to another tool depending on what letter I press on the keyboard.

Any help would be appreciated.

I am using Gimp 2.8.3 on a Mac Mini with OSX 10.9.3 My Mini has a 2.3GHz Intel Core i5
5 GB 1333 MHz DDR3

Know problem with Mavericks. Upgrade to Gimp 2.8.10.
