Can't text edit

Can't text edit

Hey guys I love your program, but every time I try to edit the name of a layer or even file for that matter, It opens up a tool parameter like perspective or scaling. How can I resolve this issue?

I am guessing you are using OS X Maverick? It seems the keybindings are not quite up to par here. So, they interfere with editing text. So, either use your system preferences to show the keyboard (not tested) or take the drastic measure of turning off all keyboard bindings within Gimp.

If this is not about OS X, please ignore.

As of now, I think it's the platform. Maverick is too new for me to comment on this.

Having said that, I am not seeing this issue with some other applications.
