Text Function

I am trying to type www.pol and everything I get to the .p - Gimp automatically changes the function to the paintbrush. How can I get it to stop doing this so that I can actually type? Thank you!

I'm unable to reproduce the bug with the stable version of GIMP for Linux.

What's your operating system and version of GIMP?

Mabe there is a keyboard shortcut? Go to Edit - Keyboard Shortcuts and chekc.
