Hello Oliver,

I haven't seen this bug on my System. But I have two workarounds for you: 1. Flatter all layers and then export to pdf. 2. Use Scribus for adding the text. Scribus has an very good PDF export.

Regards Tobias

2013/9/17 Olivier :

I'm trying to build the covers of a set of five books. Each cover contains an image and some text, i.e. the author's name and the book title.

The image is correct when I export it to jpg or png, but the text is wrongly rendered when I export to pdf. Not always, in fact: three covers are OK. In the fourth one, the first two letters of the author's name are set in a smaller body. In the fifth cover, two lines of the title are placed to high, and covert the author's name, and the third line of the title is missing.

I cannot understand what occurs, and what characteristics of the cover triggers what seems to be a bug. I'm using GIMP 2.8 on Ubuntu 12.10. Has anybody already encountered such a problem? --

I have the same problem since 2.8, though not with a wacom, but with a hanvon-tablet. For me it helps to move the cursor onto one of the docks and reenter the image every time I switch pointing device. (Win7 64-bit, running gimp in 32-bit because of missing 64-bit driver for my tablet) (and yes, you should also give this info) bw,

I seemed to manage to fix the problem by going into input devices, turning everything to disabled, then re-enabling them one by one and checking it, not sure what it was, but everything is fixed now.

Do you have a BTC address or flattr account at least?

I asked the guys at OpenFunding if there is a problem with login.

I don't use BTC, but I do have a flattr account (never been used up to now, but it exists): https://flattr.com/thing/1132266

The OpenFunding people told me that your account is well activated, so there should be no problem.
They think that maybe you have deactivated cookies.

If that's not else, you may write the wrong password. You should be able to reset it there:

Any idea how you got them into the images by accident, especially if it is the same scribble in multiple files? --

What I'm guessing happened was I accidentally somehow created and saved the path (*maybe by hitting some keyboard shortcut or something like that), and then I created multiple copies of the same file to try different editing type stuff and I assume it was inherited when I copied them...

Thanks, Matt

I just wanted to spread the word about freedomsponsors.org in that regard:
http://freedomsponsors.org/core/issue/?s=&project_id=130&project_name=GIMP http://freedomsponsors.org/core/issue/?s=&project_id=125&project_name=GEGL+%28the+new+GIMP+engine%29

There are users who have put bounties on several bugs and features - I think it is a great way for gimp users to show their support for the voluntary team. The best thing is that anyone who wants to do so can easily sign up for a bug and do the necessary work to receive the bounties (provided the solution lives up to people's requirements).

You can also propose to work on a bug/feature there - and you don't really have to have an account, just sign up through Google/BitBucket/Github/twitter/yahoo.

Just thought I would share.

Regards, Bastian

As you know there is a popular request for the gimp team to do a crowdfunding effort. With the hpotetical money they could raise, they could easily get more manpower to

1.-Finish their longterm goals faster (I am looking at you gimp 2.) 2.-Implement the changes they want
3.-Implement new improvements and feautures we want.

If "hypotethically" the gimp team accepted a kickstarter/crowdfunding effort, wich feautres would you want the most.

Pleas post area and idea

example

Painting/ More brush dynamics and control. Photography/antiblur tool (I just made that up)

The goal is to give the gimp team an idea of what they could focus on provided they ever accept crowdfunding as on one email I sent them there was the issue on deciding wich features to focus on.

Have fun!
