Viewport rotation

I'm wondering when or if GIMP is ever going to get viewport rotation (non-modifying like zoom). All the other major paint programs have this feature and it improves working with smaller sized tablets immensely since you can turn the viewport instead of the tablet for pen strokes that would otherwise be awkward or ramped (when the tablet has limited space like the area around most people's desktop PCs or laptops aboard a plane, etc.). It can make mouse drawing less awkward as well.

Viewport rotation

GIMP 2.9.1 doesn't seem to have the shift+middle drag support just a lot of slowness due to all the debug code being active. Which development version has it?

There is no officially released 2.9.x version. If you are talking about an installer from http://partha.com/, it was last updated way before canvas rotation landed.
