Toolbox icon spacing

I am on SUSE 12.2 kde, gimp-2.8.0

The icon spacing in the toolbox randomly changes its inter icon spacing, see http://members.pcug.org.au/~rcook/images/Toolbox.jpg

The only way I can get it back to normal seems to be to close gimp down and restart it

Maybe it has been corrected in 2.8.4 but SUSE haven't offered this in their repositories.

Is there another setting that I can tweak to restore the inter icon spacing

TIA

Owen

FWIW, this is the same button layout result I saw when I loaded the GIMP themes available here:

http://gimp-master.moy.su/index/0-2

This problem was persistent when I switched back to a default theme, but corrected itself when I restarted the GIMP. This happened on Mint 14 w/Cinnamon, GIMP 2.8.2

The themes noted above have a lot of potential, other than that detail. I would love to see "dark" themes available in the default set.
