I now have two questions: *How to install a certain background color in the program GIMP 2.6?* *I see by default only two colors - black and white.* The second question:
*How to set mode the "overlap"?*

There's no such mode. Perhaps you meant Overlay? It's among blending modes for both layers and painting tools.
