When I import JPG images from my digital camera Gimp assumes that they are 72 x 72 DPI. Is there a way to set this defasult to be 600 x 600 without manually adjusting it each time using "scale image"?

I use Gimp to print the images.

Gimp 2.6.11 on Salix Linux.

Au contraire! It's not the GIMP. Just check the EXIF data in file that your camera produces and you'll see it's your camera that determines the resolution, not GIMP.

While Script-fu would probably be capable of doing this (never investigated it myself) you might be better off looking for a tool that can edit EXIF data in bulk across all files as you copy them from your camera to your hard disk.
