Dialogs for tools STOP showing!

I use the GIMP all the time and I love it! I'm not a real expert, but can do mostly what I like.

I'm using Gimp 2.6 on Ubuntu. I open the GIMP, and I'm going along just fine, then all of a sudden I can't get the dialog box for a tool I'm using and I can't view the layers tool box. If I close everything and open GIMP again, it will work for a while. Anybody have this problem or have any help for me?

Dialogs for tools STOP showing!

Hey, I think I just found something! When I went to to Windows/Recently Closed Docks I got my Layers dialog back! I think that solved my problem! Thanks, anyway!

Ooops, no. I got back the Layers dialog that had closed, BUT I none of the other diaglogs for the tools will open. So I still need help. Thanks.

Have you tried Windows / Dockable Dialogs?
