Sizing Question

I have a jpg file, sized at 8.5" x 11", resolution 300 dpi. When I attempt to print that file, either directly to the printer or to pdf, the output size says it will be 8.5" x 11" but instead always prints at a fraction of that (about 2.5" x 4"). Why? and How can I print the original size?

Your image is actually 2550x3300 pixels? or is it more like 750x1200?

Sizing Question

In my "print size" dialog box, width is 8.48", height is 11.68", x and y resolution are both 300 pixels/in.

But, what printer are you using, and what is the resolution in the printer dialog box. If Gimp is sending the data to the printer as 300 dpi, but the printer is handling the data as 1200 dpi, you'll get about what you report.
