for it in Gimp. Or "install" it into Gimp. Does that make sense?

This probably means that the tablet is recognized as a simple mouse, without any handling of pressure, orientation and tilt. As Ofnuts said, first try to have the tablet properly handled by Windows, by installing the proper software from the CD.

Did you run it (at least the set-up utility)? And is the tablet working with other software?
