reporting crashes

Hi,

I'm using GIMP under Ubuntu and it is very unstable. It crashes and closes suddenly without any error message.

Is there a place where I can find some kind of log, or dump or whatever?

And if so, where can I post it? If there was any specific action that triggers the crash I would file a bug report, but I haven't found any pattern, it just crashes at random times...

You will get some logging by starting Gimp in a console with --verbose
