Connfiguration of Wacom Bamboo under Ubuntu

Hooked my Wacom Bamboo to my new (K)Ubuntu PC and everything works nicely (even better than under Windows).

However the Bamboo has an area with four buttons and a touch pad that I would like to put to good use. So

1) where do I configure that?

2) what are typical good uses for it?
