Error: Blend Does Not Operate On Index Layer

I just got this message now. I did the thing I want to do two days ago. Now I got this message. i need a way t fix it that is easy and simple to follow.

Error: Blend Does Not Operate On Index Layer

Many color operations do not work on the Indexed images, due to the limitations induced by the palette.

What you need to do is to transform the image to use the RGB colorspace. To do this open your image and in the menu use Image -> Mode -> RGB

Also note that GIF images are indexed by default, so in order to use color operations with gifs you need to work with a xcf file and then export the final image.
