Plugins

I've noticed there are a lot of plugins that are available for GIMP.

Say for example you find a gradient plugin.

Where do you install it?

I've noticed there are a lot of plugins that are available for GIMP.

Say for example you find a gradient plugin.

Where do you install it?

Go to edit - preferences - folders.

There you see the path to the folders where you can put gimp resources in. These are just folders on your computer. In preferences you can see where on your computer they are.

A gimp brush file should be put in the brushes folder, note that photoshop brushes can be used too.
A gimp script, (a file that ends with .scm )should be placed in the scripts folder, a plug-in, or python script in the plug-in folder, a gradient file in the gradients folder etc etc.
