GIMP Crashing

Hi, this is my first post, anyway everytime i open gimp it crashes or does not respond i have even tried older versions of gimp my OS is Windows 7 64 - bit and specs are 4GB RAM 2.9 Duel Core so i don't no why it isn't working.

One common cause of this is that you have large amounts of data, try starting with an empty GIMP2_DIRECTORY.
