Gimp 2.7.1 binary?

Is there somewhere a compiled binary of Gimp 2.7 / 2.7.1 I can install? I'd like to see how the development of Gimp is proceeding and I see people here have it installed. Do people here compile it themselves? I have both Windows and Ubuntu OS's.
