Gimp 2.7

Ok, I lost my preferences when I installed Ubuntu Studio 9.10, so I need to re-install Gimp 2.7.1.

Followed the instructions for compiling/installing as shown on the home page of this forum. Everything seemed to go smoothly, except, when I run the command to start Gimp, nothing happnen.

When I navigate to the location where that command says Gimp 2.7 is supposed to reside, that file is not there.

What did I do wrong?

Gimp 2.7

SOLVED. Had to run

sudo apt-get install libgegl-0.0-0

and that fixed it. Back in business. That's part of what I love about open source. You have a problem, and a little searching reveals the answer.

Love it.
