I am us Windows Vista and Mozilla Firefox for my browser.

When looking at the documentation, figures do not show in the figure box, only the wording

I noticed the same thing yesterday. I'm sure it was ok a few days ago. A randomly picked page: http://docs.gimp.org/en/gimp-concepts-usage.html Windows XP. Firefox displays the "alt" text; Internet Explorer also displays a broken image icon.
