anyway to move arrow on paint or clone?

This discussion is connected to the gimp-user-list.gnome.org mailing list which is provided by the GIMP developers and not related to gimpusers.com.

This is a read-only list on gimpusers.com so this discussion thread is read-only, too.

The dumb arrow is ALWAYS in the way when I need to to do any relatively close work. I know other editing or paint programs give a way to move it away from the working circle.

Check Preferences -> Image Windows and the settings for Mouse Pointers. Although I could not get the pointer to go away for the clone tool - just the paintbrush. I wonder if that's intentional?
