Convert text to path

Hi,

I'm reading in the manual http://docs.gimp.org/en/ch07s05s05.html that I can convert tet to path, but I cannot find or I don't know how to access the text tools option "Create path from text button" they are talking about. What I am doing is double clicking on the text layer on the layers window, maybe this is wrong?

Thanks

Owen

When you click on the Text tool, the associated text tool box has a "Text along Path" button

So make your path, write your text, and press the button

You don't say what version of GIMP you are using, but the bar, "[Create] path from Text" is in the text toolbox, not the layers window. Note that in GIMP 2.6, the wording on the bar omits the word "Create".
