international chars in Gimp

Hi,

Does Gimp support German characters. I work on Mac and I want to add text on an image. I cannot copy/paste the character Ü because Gimp uses its own clipboard, so I have to somehow type it in. What I can do?

AFAIK it does as long as your font has gylphs for them.

Can't you just type it in from your keyboard? I don't know about Mac but neither on Linux nor Windows international characters, and my language has a few specific ones, pose no problem.

The text editor has its own copy/paste, and I believe you should be able to paste your text there. Have you tried this? It is also possible to use "input methods" to type nonstandard characters.

On a mac, just press option-u or option-shift-u...

of course you can use the clipboard. Just copy on the Mac side by pressing Command+C and paste on the X11 (GIMP) side with CTRL+V

It's just that X11 uses CTRL instead of Command.

Works here on 10.5 with GIMP 2.4.3
