New to the list

Hi there everyone,

I'm new to the gimp developer list, haven't seen much traffic so I'm not sure how active this list is. I am a computer science student and was interested in gaining some experience working on a large software project with a group of developers, however I'm not real sure how to get started, any advice or pointers would be appreciated.

You can get a view of the sort of traffic this list gets by looking at

And for a lot of information on GIMP development, take a look at the develper's web page:

http://developer.gimp.org/

The best ways of getting a sense of what is going at the moment, are (1) participating in the GIMP irc channel, #gimp on GIMPNet, (2) watching GIMP's Bugzilla, accessible via http://developer.gimp.org/bugs.html, and watching the ChangeLog for cvs GIMP, which reflects every change that is made.
